ching-chou kuik's The Moth

This is a funny story:)
my husband had a candy box at work, he ran out of candy and brought me this box, and said: "Maybe you can use it, I didn't have a heart to throw it out"
Well... I did used it all right! :))
In one day it transformed into a jewelry box???
I just painted a few layers of acrylic white paint.
Stamped Sweet Pea image(ching-chou kuik's The Moth) on a Neenah paper and colored wit Copics.
Glued on the lid, covered with Glossy Accent.
On the bottom I glued a piece of lace, and one by one some pearls and gems (ouch!)
Flowers-I punched out with Martha Stewart punches, colored with Broken China Distress ink, and Glossy Accent.
And the rim I have painted with Krylon 18 kt Gold Leafing pen to match the inside.
I thought I would enter into
March Challenge - monochromatic project
I think I was working so much lately, that I do need a little break..., well, maybe ;)

Last Mermaid (for now)

MARINA Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp
This one is my favorite! :)
When I was a little girl, I was dreaming about a daughter, and I thought that I would name her Marina :)
I have a daughter, and her name is NOT Marina, but Victoria )))
And I will try to enter this card as well

Very interesting:

The mythology of unrelated cultures across the earth have mermaid legends.
The “bloop” has been recorded and the source is yet unknown.
The Aquatic Ape hypothesis is very real and has good sound evidence to support it as being possible. Humans are more like marine mammals than terrestrial mammals, including other primates.
1 Humans have little body hair.
2 We can hold our breath longer than any terrestrial mammal.
3 Human babies instinctively know how to swim and hold their breath.
4 Humans possess remnant webbing on hands and feet, unlike other primates.
5 Like marine mammals we possess a fat layer under our skin.
6 Our brains are more like cetaceans than other primates.
7 A nutrient rich seafood diet could explain the rapid development of the human brain.
8 Animals from the sea evolved into land animals which later returned to the sea.
9 Bipedalism could have been easily accomplished in an aquatic environment.
10 Bone structure is similar in humans and cetaceans.
11 Dolphins are one of the few animals that copulate for pleasure, the same is true of humans

Sweet Dreams

It's not a secret I am a HUGE fan of Sweet Pea stamps-so, it's not a surprise-it's another card  with  stamp by Rachel Anderson from Sweet Pea.
It's sort of a challenge for me-those stamps. I am scared of them, but, I cannot stay away from them either)))
I want to make them as realistic as possible for me.
But, over all -I am happy again! I don't know.... maybe a year from now, I'll look at her differently. But, for now she makes me feel so peaceful, safe and mellow.
Happy dreams everyone!

Make a splash

AAA!!! Today I have a really surprisingly good day!
I just found out that my card ching chou kuik's One and Only Heart  has been picked as a winner of a challenge!
This is the first time that has EVER happened to me:) So I am wearing a smile on my face from ear to ear!
Thank you! To the Sweet Pea blog, for their challenges!

And me and my husband will celebrate 17th! Wedding Anniversary this weekend, how time flies!

Well, today I wanted to show you a 2nd card from my mermaid collection.
She is:
CALLIOPE Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp

I think that octopus looks like an eggplant-LOL!!!
They remind me of my kids-when they take a bath, so much splashing around, that you can find water all over the place!!!
I don't really know why I made it gold, orange and purple-I suppose, because that octopus looked like eggplant to me since the first time I saw this stamp.
Technique I used same as on previous mermaid.
And just added some heated embossing with opaque white bubbles.
Fish and seaweeds this time is a stickers I had for years!
on the bottom I have added some wave, that I have die cut from purple card stock (same as the backing)(Memory Box Dies)
On the top I did used some glimmer mist, AND! some goose bumps Clear Texture Spray-which made card look like wet))
full of splashes.
I think It's a fun card for any girl (young or young at heart) to get as a B-day gift.
What do you think?

Irish Mermaid

This card was so much fun to make:)
It took me all day long, because I made not just the main background that you see,(you can see how I make it here) but also background with shaving cream inside the card, part of that paper you see on a Mermaids tale.
Her hair and face I did colored with Copic markers, but for background I have used all the green colors of distress ink pads (Tim Holtz)
Corals are made with embossing powders
Little fish I stamped on a Shrink plastic, cut it out and shrank.
Weeds I did cut out on my Cricut machine (Splish Splash cartridge)
On a tail I have also used Stampee Foil-her tale really looks like a fish)
I am happy with this card, and I actually have 5 new mermaid cards-but I will show you one at a time, so I won't bore you with them all at once.
This particular card I wish to enter at
"Colour with Green" от Make it Colourful.

ching chou kuik's One and Only Heart

This image is so captivating for me. She looks like she had her heart broken, yet still she's offering it to you. Because she's hoping for love nad acceptance.
She's not sure, if her heart would be safe, but she's so hoping, and trusting.... She looks like a ruffled sparrow with those gigantic sad eyes.
I made this card for a challenge "Forever in Time"  The whole image is colored in distress ink pads-no Copic markers this time at all! Paper for the card I did in "Balleek" style.
And for the big leaves I thank my dear friend-NataShuk!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you here next week:)

Here, inside the card you can see a lot better of "Balleek" style technique:

Rachel Anderson's Forget me Not

This card is sort of "Clean and simple" I wanted Martha Stewart punch specifficaly for this image, and I waited, and waited until I got it:)
Backround I colored with distress ink pads, added some glimmer mist  for the shimmer, image colored with Copic markers.
Flowers I have punched out, colored with the same! (distress ink pads) and added some glossy.
In the center I added some acrylic half beads.
It's simple, its... like the morning in the woods, with the fresh air and dew drops.
Expect tiny miracles, and good fortune:)
